Vertical Garden

In the spring of 2013, I was part of a group project for studio to create a vertical garden. We decided that our design objective was to incorporate a person's sense of touch, smell and sound.

My team created a walk way sensory experience with latticed walls and plants, which we grew ourselves! We wanted the user to approach our garden with a wide-open entrance, slowly feel the different textures on the walls, and feel and smell more plants at the exit. We wanted the user to feel like the walls were beginning to close in. We latticed one wall to allow different light and shadow patterns to form. We lined the wood with black plastic and made holes to allow water to trickle down from the rows of plants.
